When David ...Son of Sam... Berkowitz first went to prison, he never thought he would ever survive the ordeal and the prison experience.

For years, he languished in a New York State prison cell accomplishing nothing, wasting away. As a result of some very unique and overwhelming human revelations, David Berkowitz found a sense of direction, through two fellow inmates, Steve and Kenney Cender, two remarkable personalities, who provided and empowered him to "do something positive" is his permanent world behind bars.

He fell into a deep and loving relationship with words and poetry, resulting in his finding a new purpose and a new meaning for his mere existence.

This man, placed away from society forever, for whom words were one of his greatest mysteries, has composed, created and compiled a host of poetry and prose, which is only now being released to the world in 1999.
